We are a 100% all volunteer company 24/7 365 serving the Mendham Township community . We have members from all backgrounds and we would love you to join our family.

There’s a fire. You call for help. Who answers? The vast majority of Americans live in places that don’t have a single firefighter on the payroll. “The Call” is a portrait of the volunteer fire service that steps up to answer this critical need, told in the unique voice of an animator who is also a volunteer firefighter. The members of Brookside Engine Company #1 welcome your interest in our organization and request you complete the following procedures for membership application:

  1. Complete the online application.

  2. Complete the online police background form.

  3. Once your completed application has been reviewed by the committee, you will be contacted to set up an interview.

  4. After the committee has met with you, we will send you to have a physical, at no cost to you.

  5. Your name will be noted at the next company meeting indicating you are in the process of joining. Our monthly meetings are held on the last Monday of the month.

  6. Once all paperwork is returned in a satisfactory manner, your name will be read for a final approval at our next company meeting.

  7. You will be introduced at the next Township Committee meeting
